Freddie King
BLUES GUYS FROM TEXAS AND THE MIGHTY CHICAGO are super fabulous. A sleek and wowee soulful strong man is the very cookin' and zesty Mr. Freddie King. He was born in Texas but later on went on up to wild Chocago and with his big guy style he made it big. He was powerfully influenced by Blind Lemon Jefferson and Big Bill Broonzy. I honestly believe he has a kickin' kind of power style that'll really draw the listener in. His versions of 'Hide Away,' 'I'm Tore Down' and the free-wheelin' giant number 'Sweet Home Chicago' are truly somethin' else. King's power-driving attack and his giant physical visage made for a potent soul and often he traded riffs with some famed guys like Luther Allison, Magic Sam and Otis Rush. Yeah, Mr. Freddie King is an AWESOME performer.

Nice Writing
THE GOOD terse writing of Ernest Hemingway is a real joy. He does not use too many adjectives. His 'Torrents' is a fine tome.

COOLING OFF WITH WEST COAST JAZZ is loads of fun. The temp is wildly hot now and so I listened to Art Pepper jazz, grand West Coast stuff....
