"Hugo' is a quite interesting and visually exciting story of a young orphan boy in the Paris of the 1930s. It shows us how the magical young guy keeps all the clocks running well and he has such a zesty and profound appreciation of the miracle of life. The films of Martin Scorsese have fascinated me for a long time. I especially like his rough and tough 'Mean Streets,' 'Goodfellas' and 'Casino. It is powerful the way Scorsese depicts the violent souls that are often a part of the contemporary American life that prevails in our American cities. See the new film, 'Hugo' and get yourself some marvelous movie going fun.

'Casino' 'Goodfellas' represent real art!

Martin Scorsese is a film director who has the amazing ability to create movies with so many complex cultural layers. When you view his cinematic art you are quickly awash in his intricate and so overpowering flooding world of a myriad of marvelous details designed to make you identify intensely with the characters and get you enmeshed in their at times virulent goings-on. Two amazing works of Martin Scorsese ...'Casino' and 'Goodfellas' ....especially have strong, passionate appeal. Of special note is the remarkable acting work Scorsese gets from the engaging soul Robert De Niro in these two films. It is unique how these films illustrate the brittle machinations of the gangster souls so well. There is a grande guignol brashness about this duo of films. It has without a doubt strong appeal to all levels of modern society. Indeed the appeal of Scorsese film styling is potent for both women and men. I find the psychological interplay between the brusque Joe Pesci and the rather suave Robert DeNiro in 'Goodfellas' especially marvelous. My arcane mind tells me perhaps I should not get too amused by somewhat vile film stuff but then again just like reading some vigorous untamed Rabelais material I find Scorsese film art having intense, delightful appeal. In 'Goodfellas,' the work of Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro is memorable for its strident cinematic forcefullness.
