Thoughts on 'Tokyo Story'
'TOKYO STORY' remarkably displays a very compelling film story line by the sleekly masterful Japanese director Ozu Yasujiro. This movie portrays the inner weirdness going on in a somewhat odd family. The old folks go on a visit to their children and grandchildren and they are surprised for they find a considerable amount of selfishness and ungrateful thinking. The dialectic Ozu-san perpetrates seems to skillfully weave a tale of the brazen ups and downs of contemporary family life. This is not an elementary school film...there amounts to a high degree of depth here. One can become mesmerized by this august, bold saga.
Super Okinawan New Year Celebration
BEAUTIFUL NEW YEAR'S PARTY yesterday March 7. We went to a marvelous New Year event in fascinating Fayette County. This multicultural event was so much fun. There were excellent Okinawan dance and music performances and also there was a lot of creative communication between people of so many cultures. This kind of experience helps us all to realize the greatness that is inherent in our lives when we are culturally enriched.
