Horrid Weather Infuriates
MY AREA has so many stuck on the artery roads and most of all the main freeways. Leon, the Winter Storm, came and punched us out here in Metro Atlanta.. It is a humongous, horrible mess. It is tough...Can't think well. I figure I can't cogitate on writing on art, blues, culture, films or jazz right now. I am an angry camper as the old time John Hughes films guys and gals might have said.

Nippon Exercises
JAPANESE EXERCISES: We did some very enjoyable Japanese exercises this morning. Thanks YouTube for this grand content. I am now very energized culturally. Reading some good Haiku helped me so much today, also.

Weird Cultural Vibes
THIS COLD WEATHER has me about nuts. I can't stand brutal cold weather. I feel like I am in the tundra land of Leo Tolstoy. Please bring us some warmth. Thinking about being in the Bahamas...that'll help me right now. Oh, Yes...absolutely.

Homage to William Holden
SUPERIOR ACTORS are a terrific joy. This represents my personal homage to William Holden. He was so clever years ago working that Hollywood flick with La Swanson. Also, his non-dilletante work in 'Picnic' and 'Suzie Wong' indicated tremendous, ebullient acting chops. To use street language parlance, Bill Holden can get it done.

2014 Award Season
HUGE FUN TIME going on now for the annual exciting awards season for grand movies. I love all the wild Red Carpet stuff and also the famous folks. I especially like the attention that Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and the 'American Hustle' folks are getting.

DeNiro, Williams
I SAW POWER acting the other night. Again, I watched the poignant, thoughtful film, 'Awakenings.' This story of the goings-on in a mental institution is so strong. Robert DeNiro and Robin Williams are super in this one.

J. Lopez
YES, JENNIFER LOPEZ is better and better. She is really a grand cultural force. Lately, the woman is ever more impressive. Such an icon of cultura style...that's J-Lo.

The Good Man: Bradley Cooper
INDEED, BRADLEY COOPER radiates kindness. The interesting aspect of Mr. Cooper's style remains the elusive but poignant essence of vivid kindness that characterizes his acting. His joy for others (look how kind he was to Leo D. at the Globes) generates so much warmth and surely makes audiences love him so much. I have the utmost respect for Mr. Bradley Cooper, a gentleman with a superb sense of style.
Leo Etc.
SO GLAD the great Leonardo DiCaprio won a Golden Globe last night. Also, very happy the super Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams won Golden Globes for 'American Hustle.'

C. Pissarro---elegance in art
CAMILLE PISSARRO is a French artist I very much love. His works are so delicate and intensely elegant. There is a robust quality about his concepts even when he swiftly delves into the darker shades.
Help us with Jan.
THIS WEATHER....BRRRRR. Let's hope and pray this weather eases up...It's hard to think about art and films and music when one is uncomfortable. Let's hope for Jan. help...Listen to B.B. King that will get us psyched up ...strong guitar.
Good Saxophone Guys
BEN WEBSTER AND JOHNNY HODGES: These two men are I believe joyful fine men of the saxophone. Hodges (on alto) and Webster (on tenor) have beautiful tones. They make the jazz from their horns really soar. Enjoy Webster and Hodges! They are indeed two musical all-stars.

Nice Writing
THE GOOD terse writing of Ernest Hemingway is a real joy. He does not use too many adjectives. His 'Torrents' is a fine tome.
