Sherlock

SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE  is a shrewd writer.  His creation of the clever and so witty Sherlock Holmes is a profound literary achievement.  I like the odd and surreal prose of Conan Doyle.  Indeed the characterizations of Sherlock Holmes and his cohort Watson are engaging and they bear the mark of remarkable genius.

Bring Us Warm Stuff

COME ON SPRING!  GET US SOME WARMTH!  I am so ready for super warm spring temps.  The thing that helps right now is listening to Mendelsohn, Mozart and Dizzy.  I also read Lee Child and chic Elmore Leonard.

Sherlock Holmes

SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE certainly did a masterful job creating the shrewd character, Sherlock Holmes. The Brit influence and Sherlock have energized our wild culture so much.  It is amusing reading 'Speckled Band' and other slick Arthur Conan Doyle stories.  It is grand to have delicious cultural recipes consumed by our merry brains,  Give a shout out for Sherlock Holmes and friends!

The Super Horace Silver

ELEGANT JAZZ PIANO MAN AND COMPOSER...What greatness is in the profound soul, Horace Silver.  This gentleman produced outstanding, engaging compositions.  His numbers 'Doodlin' and 'Senor Blues' are especially memorable.  The sleek chording and resonant musicality of Horace Silver represent loads of huge fun for the avid jazz listener.

Pep Boys

HAPPY ME:  I had a truly marvelous experience with my Pep Boys folks today.  Outstanding vehicle service.  Today is Great...a fine day in our culture.

Raymond Chandler

POWERFUL AUTHOR, THE FANTASTIC RAYMOND CHANDLER.  I re-read the unique R. Chandler book, 'The High Window' late last night.  Mr. Chandler is an amazing wordsmith.  He is 'hip.'  He puts together good mysteries or as latter-day pundits say "thrillers."  I feel so good when I read Raymond Chandler.  He creates great reading excitement.

The Exciting And So Passionate Joy of Stevie Wonder

STEVIE WONDER MUSIC filled my place with tremendous happiness and joy last night.  I totally enjoyed watching the 'Stevie Wonder Tribute Special' on TV.  The man is a gigantic genius and his music is so remarkable.  Fantastic songs like 'I Just Called To Say I Love You' and the beautiful 'For Once In My Life' had me crying like a tiny baby.  When Stevie's music kicks in Lord it makes me want to dance real quick.  I hope all of you enjoy Stevie Wonder like I do.

'Fresh Off The Boat'

FINE COMIC SHOW!  I love the new ABC show 'Fresh Off The Boat.'  This production shows the modern Asians lives so well.  It is a true revelation.

SNL Clever People

SNL LIVE NUMBER 40 was good last night.  But as some friends said there were so many unique people that it was somewhat on the wild side as little Nelson Algren might say.  I confess I liked the performances of the ebullient Martin Short and Mya Rudolph, though.

Another Way For Everyone To Access My Blog

I HAVE FOUND MANY OF YOU CANNOT ACCESS MY BLOG.  I talked to my good friend who said just try the following address element:

http://fcwhitejr.blogspot.com/  I think this technique might work better than the www concept.  I hope this is helpful.

I had a wonderful time at the wedding of our friends' daughter on Peachtree in Atlanta, late yesterday.  The wedding was at The Wimbish House (the Atlanta Woman's Club locale).  It is a marvelous and very beautiful place.

Nice Writing

THE GOOD terse writing of Ernest Hemingway is a real joy.  He does not use too many adjectives.  His 'Torrents' is a fine tome.
